People in Redbridge can now access their GP practice and manage their health online in much the same way as managing other areas of their life such as banking and shopping.
GP online is a quick, easy and secure way to book GP appointments, order repeat prescriptions and view parts of your medical records, including information about medication, allergies, vaccinations, previous illnesses and test results.
1.7 million Londoners have already registered for GP online services with 89% of those surveyed saying registering is easy to do.
Local doctors and Redbridge Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) are urging more people to sign up and make managing their health more convenient. The services enable you to book GP appointments and request repeat prescriptions via computer, smartphone or tablet at a time that suits you, anywhere, anytime – 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Local GP and chair of Redbridge CCG, Dr Anil Mehta, said: “Just as we manage other aspects of our lives online, we can now oversee our health in the same way.
“GP online services is flexible and makes booking an appointment or ordering a repeat prescription convenient, especially for those who lead busy lives.
“I can’t emphasise enough how much everyone can benefit from this fantastic service and I encourage more patients to get involved.”
To register for GP online services take photo ID and proof of address to your GP practice, and they can sign you up. You will then receive a unique username and password and can start using the online services straight away. The services available depend on the online system your GP practice uses.
